The project 'Trasporto Umano' (Human Transport) was accidentally born in Cairo, Egypt, while observing local occurrences of daily life in which all forms of transport were involved. Transporting by Man is the main focus in all project's photographs.

The project started with the a picture, 'La Ruota' (The Wheel), whose subject, a wheel, captures the essence and is key to entering the mysterious world around it. I found this mirroring the scope of photography in a broader sense.

The first picture inspired me to look for more fragments of daily life … and suddenly it seemed to me that everybody were transporting something.

In the photographs of 'Trasporto Umano' both women and men are engrossed in generic acts of transporting all sorts of merchandise, activities not so commonly seen anymore in our cities of the first world. Even children are involved in these random operations, nobody is excluded.

Everything is transported without any restriction, even in dangerous circumstances as in the picture of the horse and cart carrying unprotected gas bottles in the midst of car traffic.

In the final analysis, the same question always springs to mind: which is heavier, tiredness caused by strenuous physical effort or the tiredness caused by daily life?
